GlobalPolls: 39% of young Americans have recently had unprotected sex

GlobalPolls announced the results of their global unprotected sex survey. According to the results, 39% оf young Americans, aged between 15 and 35 years old, have had unprotected sex with a non-regular partner at least one time during the past 3 years. 69% of Americans who have had unprotected sex said they did it while intoxicated; this was the second highest result among the 57 countries surveyed. 62% also confessed they had unprotected sex during their first sex experience, and only 32% of Americans have been inspected by a doctor after they had unprotected sex with a non-regular partner.

The respondents who seemed to practice safe sex the most were from China and Norway. Only 17% of Chinese participants and 18% of Norwegian participants said they had unprotected sex with a non-regular partner during the last 3 years.

The poll also shows that Russia had the highest cases of unprotected sex while intoxicated with 74% of participants responding affirmatively. The smallest percentage of this case was in Pakistan at 5%.

Ukranians had the highest percentage for first-time, unprotected sex at 84%. While Israel had the lowest with 15%.

The global average of those who have had unprotected sex with a non-regular partner, and were inspected by the doctor afterwords, was 34%. The highest result being in Japan at 74%.

The poll was carried out by GlobalPolls research group. A total of 56,026 respondents aged between 15 and 35 years old were anonymously polled in 56 countries. The poll was carried out in: Australia, Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Vietnam.
